Our Stay On Kauai

Our Stay On Kauai

Second stop on our honeymoon, Kauai!

I truly cannot pick which island was my favorite so don’t ask! They were both so amazing and different and we loved every second of them. Kauai had a laid back vibe that made it hard to find anything to dislike. From our excursions to our accommodations, everything was perfect.

Accommodations

We stayed at Marriott’s Kauai Beach Club. This offered a much bigger resort feel than anywhere we had stayed previously. It was right on it’s own beach, with a giant pool surrounded by 5 hot tubs, it truly had everything. We really enjoyed coming down in the morning and reading by the ocean and taking a dip in the pool, it was the best of both worlds. The rooms had everything and the resort had quite a few dining options that we really enjoyed right on the property. The location was perfect for us! It was right in the center of Kauai so it was easy to get to either side for our various excursions (tip: we rented a car on both islands and found this was definitely worth the money for the convenience).

Food

As I mentioned, our hotel had a few restaurants right on the property. There was a nice Italian restaurant, a beachside bar, and a great sport right by the pool and ocean for great breakfast and lunch. We ventured out a few times to try other restaurants and our favorite was Tidepools. This great seafood restaurant is set right in the middle of a koi pound with waterfalls surrounding you. It was a really great meal with a beautiful vibe. Again I can’t recommend enough stopping at any random food truck to try some local favorites!

Activities

Okay I don’t want to brag (but I will tell this to everyone who asks about our honeymoon), but we tried surfing and I was pretty good! It was so much fun and I got the hang of it so quickly, it was such a great way to spend a chunk of our afternoon out in the water learning a new skill. I loved it! We spent one night doing a guided tour through a botanical garden which ended in a luau dinner. The gardens were breathtaking we honestly loved that part more than the dinner. I highly recommend exploring the town of Hanalai! I could not stop saying how cute it was. All of the stores were adorable I wanted to buy everything! We tried so many different foods and enjoyed some time on the beach. We spent the whole day out there and stopped in Princeville for a look at the Queen’s Bath before we got there. It was a great day trip! Our last big excursion was a helicopter tour. I was TERRIFIED but I knew we would regret it if we didn’t do it. So I mustered up the courage and it was worth every minute of worrying. To see all of the different landscapes was above brought a whole new level of appreciation for the island. It’s scary but I do recommend!

Here’s a few more unpublished photos, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
