Our Stay On Maui
I can hardly put in to words how amazing our honeymoon was.
Although I love to plan, we really left a lot of free time to go with the flow and see what interested us in the moment. We split our honeymoon in to two stops, Maui and Kauai. First stop, Maui!
Accommodations
Our first hotel was the Aston Kaanapali Shores. With a beautiful beachside pool, this resort offered us the best of both worlds to start our vacation. We were able to relax by the pool each day, and enjoy the hot tub at night (though to be honest the time change knocked. us. out for the first half of our trip). On top of their beautiful amenities, their concierge service offered us some of our favorite activities of our whole trip. They really knew what they were talking about!
Our second hotel was our big splurge of the honeymoon, and it was worth EVERY penny. We made the drive on the Road to Hana and stayed at the luxurious Hana Maui Resort. We splurged on a beautiful ocean side room, and were lucky enough to get upgraded to an oceanside room with a hot tub balcony. This resort left us speechless. To say it was secluded would be an understatement. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks was the only audible sound throughout our stay, we truly felt like the only people on the planet. With a beautiful ocean view pool, a gorgeous spa and fun activities like a small three hole golf course, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We really thought about extending our stay one night we loved it that much. Highly highly recommend!
Food
The concierge booked us an amazing patio dinner at sunset at Kimo’s restaurant. Not only was the view at sunset stunning, but the food was one of our favorite spots of the whole trip. I had steak and Mitchell an ahi tun, both amazing! Another favorite spot of ours was Baya Bowls—an açaí bowl food truck. They had the best açaí bowls of the whole trip, I’d kill for another one right now! On our drive up the Road to Hana we stopped at a few food trucks for bbq, chocolate covered bananas and banana bread, all great sports. Don’t skip on the food trucks!
Activities
We left plenty of time for relaxing by the pool, after two years of planning it was much deserved! But we did make sure to schedule a few excursions that we were very excited about. First being a snorkeling trip on the coast of Lanai. It was the most beautiful snorkeling experience either of us had ever had (highlight being a swim with sea turtles, unforgettable). The Road to Hana offered lots of waterfalls and picturesque views. Our favorite stop was at the Black Sand beach, it was so different than anything else I’d seen.
