NYC Date Night

Who doesn’t love a night out?

I’m all for staying in and a good movie, which Mitchell and I do all the time. But getting dressed up and going out to dinner in the city is so much fun. For about half of our relationship we did long distance, between different schools and summer jobs it just happened that way. Now that we’re together all the time (literally haha), it’s fun to plan a date night, or day, once a week to switch it up and do something different. Here are some of my favorite’s.

1. Dinner Date

You could live in New York City your whole life and never run out of restaurants to try. We’re all about trying new restaurants so this is an easy option when coming up with a date night. I suggest Gramercy Tavern, La Pecora Bianca, or Eataly. Misi in Brooklyn is top on my list of places that we need to try! Stop for drinks on your way home too, there are so many bars to try!

2. Stroll around SoHo

I’m pretty lucky that Mitchell also enjoys to shop and walk around the city. SoHo is one of my favorite areas because it’s a mix of aspirational stores and affordable stores. I can check in on my dream purchases (hello Dior saddle bag) while also stopping at Zara to stock up on new pieces. There’s also so many bakeries and cafes to stop at while you’re walking for a coffee and bite to eat.

3. Head to Central Park

As much as I love the city, I do miss the changing of the leaves and nature that I got back home. So the other week Mitchell suggested we pick up some snacks and head into Central Park for a picnic and walk through one of the only spots to get some nature in the city. We walked to the boat house and sat by the water watching the rob boats and people fishing while snacking on some pastries.

4. Brooklyn Botanic Garden

I love the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Not only are the gardens impressive, but the architecture is breathtaking. This is definitely a fun way to spend the day with your significant other.
