Oct 25 Refreshing my Fall Wardrobe

Fall is in full swing and I have been editing through my closet like crazy.

Everyone knows that I am usually all about the jeans. I wear them constantly (even as I’m laying in bed writing this, I’m wearing jeans). But I’d seen this style of casual slacks popping up all over Instagram and I knew I wanted to give them a try. It got me thinking of all of the ways I can refresh my wardrobe without spending a ton of money.

A New Pair of Pants Gives You Endless Possibilities

Getting new pants, especially branching out of the denim family, has made me look at my other clothes differently. I have so many outfits planned to wear with these pants that would give off an entirely different vibe with denim. Never underestimate how much one item can change the way you look at your closet.

A New Accessory

I grabbed this purse when I picked up the pants because it reminded me of the Bottega Veneta Pouch that I definitely won’t be purchasing. But this gave off a similar feel so I was so excited to find it. I love my bucket bag that I carry with me all the time, but even just a simple switch of the purse can make it feel like a whole new outfit.

Throw in a Statement Piece

I’m all for buying classics because you will have them forever. But each season, invest in a couple pieces that are trendy to give your classic pieces the fashionable edge you’re looking for. They don’t have to be expensive, I grabbed this puff shoulder cardigan from Target and while this style won’t be around forever, I’m loving it right now and have so much fun styling it different ways.

New Boots

This is one trend I feel changes all the time. Each season it seems that while boots will always be here to stay, they style of boot that you see is different every year. This year I’ve loved knee high boots that aren’t tight to the calf, but leave room for jeans or even work underneath a dress or skirt. Just this minor change in the boot style can give you new outfit possibilities.
