Croatia Travel Guide
Another destination crossed off my bucket list, Croatia.
Croatia was the second destination on our trip, and the warm weather was a much needed change after the snow capped mountains we were hiking in Switzerland. It did get to be quite warm during the day in Croatia so we made sure to include water activities into each day.
Stay
We stayed at the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel and it. was. beautiful! With pool and ocean access, it couldn’t have been more perfect. The concierge here helped us book the best restaurants and activities. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The hotel was just a ten minute bus ride from the Old Town Dubrovnik which made sight-seeing easy. We spent plenty of time at the pool, and the pool’s swim up bar.
Activities
You have to check out the wall that separates the Old Town from the rest of Dubrovnik. It truly transports you to another time. While you’re walking along the wall you can see out onto the water which is how we spotted a kayaking tour. We booked one for the next day and loved it. Your guide will take you to some great sights and fun places to swim and cool off. Like I said, you need to be on the water in the summer heat. We also rented a boat for the following day and were able to swim and snorkel into some really beautiful caves.
Food
We had one of our favorite meals of our trip in Croatia. If you can, make a reservation at Posat. If the view from their rooftop restaurant wasn’t enough, the food was phenomenal. I tried their lamb and hand rolled pasta and ate every bite.
It was truly a great experience that I would recommend to everyone.
