Feb 19 Spring Break Do's and Don'ts

Spring Break is quickly approaching.

You don’t even have to look at the calendar to know that, just walk into Target and you’ll see shelves and shelves of bathing suits and summer clothes. It’s refreshing and exciting to be able to dress for a new season after being stuck in these cold temperatures so long.

I’ve compiled a list of “do’s and don’ts” for Spring Break style and I’d love to know your list of do’s and don’ts as well so leave a comment!

1. Do Buy Yourself a New Swimsuit

You don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe for Spring Break, you already have tons of basics you can put to use on this trip. It’s fun to buy something new to get you excited for this adventure, so grab a new swimsuit to get yourself in the summer mood!

2. Don’t Pack Too Many Shoes

I always feel like I need to bring every pair of shoes under the sun on my trips. What if I go out to a really fancy dinner? I should probably pack those just in case. Don’t do this. Pick a pair that is good for walking around and a pair that is cute and will match with everything.

3. Do Wear Minimal Makeup

Give your skin a break and soak in the sun! You’ll most likely be on the beach somewhere or by a pool, so keep your makeup to a minimum. A tinted moisturizer with SPF and waterproof mascara is all you’ll need. Some of my favs:

4. Don’t Pack Complicated Outfits

Spring break is all about relaxing after months of tests, papers, and late night homework sessions. Don’t stress yourself out while packing by overcomplicating your looks. Pack a few basic tee’s that you can pair with anything. My favorite warm weather look is a white tee and some ripped up denim shorts with a cool accessory. A sundress or two that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion will also get you far. Versatility is key!
