Friday Favorites: Things That Keep Me Healthy

I place a lot of importance on my health.

Not just my physical health, but mental and emotional health as well. When I’m overly stressed, everything else in my world feels off. If I’m not active enough, I feel sluggish. It is all connected so it’s important to find things you enjoy that keep you happy and healthy.

1. Spin Class

I was becoming really bored with my workouts and recently decided to take a spin class offered at my gym called 'Ripped Ride’. I love it. It integrates light weights and spinning and is an incredible workout. I actually look forward to the days I have designated for spin. It’s really important to find that passion so you do something that’s good for you and enjoy it at the same time.

2. Going for Walks

The weather is finally starting to warm up. For me, that means taking a good walk a few times a week. Over the summer I do it almost every night with friends and family. It’s a great way to catch up and also get some of those steps in.

3. Write in a Journal

I have done this every night for the past three years. It’s a great way to collect my thoughts on the day I just had and unwind before bed. You also get to look back and remember things you’ve done at the end of the year.

4. Find a Creative Outlet

Besides writing in my journal, I go on Pinterest almost every day. Whether I need a break from things that are stressing me out, or just want to look for some inspiration, this is where I go.

5. Eat a Healthy Meal at Least Once a Day

I generally eat pretty healthy. This definitely didn’t use to be the case, but I quickly realized that when I changed my eating habits, I felt better and had much more energy. Try to eat at least one healthy meal a day so you can maintain your energy.
