Friday Favorites: Spots in New York
Exploring different parts of the city has been one of the best parts of coming down here.
Outside of the food, which I wrote about here a few weeks ago, there are so many other fun things to do.
Stop in Soho
Get out of the craziness of Times Square and head down to Soho. The cobblestone streets and old buildings make you feel like you’re not still in Manhattan. There are so many great shops to stop in, but really just walking around and taking it all in is a great activity on its own.
Walk the Brooklyn Bridge
As much of a cliché as it can be, it really is beautiful walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Start in Manhattan and then head over to DUMBO in Brooklyn for that Instagram worth shot of the bridge through the buildings. Brooklyn is a really fun an different vibe so if you end your walk in Brooklyn be sure to check out all the shopping, restaurants and bars that it has to offer.
The Oculus at World Trade
The Oculus is a shopping center at the World Trade Center. Aside from having everything you could ever want to buy (seriously there’s a Sugarfina, Dior, Forever 21 and Apple Store just to name a few) it is an incredible building. The architecture is so picturesque. When you’re done shopping you can head outside to see the Freedom Tower and Memorial Pools.
Chelsea Market
Chelsea Market is full of delicious foods to try. Walk through and share tons of different dishes from doughnuts to dumplings. It’s a really fun change of pace from other places in the city.
5th Ave
To do the best shopping, this is where you need to go. Some of my favorite stops would be Zara, Uniqlo, H&M and & Other Stories. But I also love to do some serious window shopping at places like Tiffany’s, Gucci and Cartier…a girl can dream!
